If you needed another reason to participate in the mHealth Grand Tour, here it is! A report published yesterday in Euractiv on bicycle highways in several EU countries claims that such cycling networks help save healthcare costs and make their users healthier.
In Denmark alone, the bicycle network in place is currently saving the Danish state an estimated €40 million per year in health costs, with only a relatively small amount of money going to building and maintaining the highways.
What’s more, the health benefits of cycling are invaluable – including health benefits related to reduced congestion and air pollution.
